Welcome to the home page of the Duke-NCSU Engineering Teaching Fellows Program. We're glad you're here!
We would like to thank the National Science Foundation, IBM Computers, Inc., and Microsoft Research for their generous support of our program.
The mission of the Duke-NCSU Teaching
Fellows Program is to
promote passionate interest in science, math, engineering and technology.
Our vision is to make a long-term
impact on the number of students,
particularly women and under-represented groups, who choose to pursue science
oriented careers. The teachers in our program learn new ways to integrate
science and math into all aspects of the N.C. standard course of study.
By placing graduate and undergraduate
engineering students in N.C.
elementary and middle schools to assist in the teaching of science related
topics,
we provide a valuable resource of expertise and enthusiasm for science.
We believe that science can be
found in every required and elective topic
in the N.C. GK-12 curriculum, and this is one of our most useful tools to
promote interest in science.
